A garage sort out has revealed a few brand new genuine brake parts (cylinders and springs) suitable
for an early model 1977 Daihatsu Jeep. Some part numbers are just visible on the faded packaging. I also have a new cork sump gasket for the Daihatsu/Toyota petrol 1600cc engine that was fitted to the jeeps at that time. The vehicle model was an ‘F’ series I think, like the Taft but the sidelight/indicator lens was rectangular rather than square. I have a photo of the vehicle if needed for identification purposes. It was a personal import, reregistered as ANP519R and sold as long ago as 1987... if the owner is reading this I would be delighted to hear from you!
As I don’t like throwing away new parts, I am hopeful that someone reading this might want them before being sent to auto part heaven! Cork sump gasket 12151-30010-000 (measures 260mm x 515mm overall)
Brake spring 90045-06061-000 177mm long
Two brake springs 9004?-?6058-000 180mm long
Unboxed brake cylinder with toothed adjuster, no part number but cast AISIN L1 2R
Unboxed brake cylinder without adjuster, no part number but cast AISIN 7/8 64
(Both brake cylinders are new but have got light surface corrosion during storage)

I think I have also got a pair of circular headlights somewhere, but they cannot be used in this country. They caused the vehicle to fail the MOT because they are right dipping.
The Jeep was bought in Dubai in 1983, and driven back home in April 1986, towing a trailer through Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Greece, Yugoslavia, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and France. I made and fitted an extra stainless steel fuel tank to more than double the range to over 500 miles between petrol stops. The journey took 16 days during which several breakdowns occurred, all electrical. A friend drove with me in a Subaru, which I still use today. After re-registration in the UK my brother used the jeep for forestry work for one year and caused a lot of damage. It was then sold to a buyer from Stourbridge, West Midlands.
I had a lot fun with the Jeep, ideal for off-road vehicle driving in sand and in the mountains of the Emirates!
