Forum:
The front CV just started making noice when turning. If I replace the boot immediatly, will the joint be ok? Or, does the joint now need to be replaced? I don't want to spend any more on this car than necessary.

CV PROBLEM
Once it clicks its had it, the ball bearings are worn and jumping about.
Try these guys for CV's at a good price -
www.driveshaftparts.co.uk (Stockport).
Make sure you check your spline count and dimensions, Daihatsu's are usualy listed wrongly.

Dave.

The clicking noise happens
The clicking noise happens only when turning right. But, I think it's on the left side. Does that sound possible. Or, do I need to get someone outside the car to tell me which side the noise is coming from?
CV problem
It does not matter which way you turning to affect which side.
Wind down both windows and drive full lock both ways, you'll tell then which it is.
Try same in reverse if no noise at all.
Change it soon, now its clicking it wont last long before it fails, maybe leaving you stranded??
Good luck,
Dave.

No change it
Mate,
If it is knocking already it needs replacing..the noise will not go simply by changing the boot.......it is not a big job, but CV joints or complete shafts are not cheap.
