Hi all.
Chunky has a bad knock,(rear door area) apparent when hitting pot holes ,ect, also found today that the rear door is dragging on the bumper and trailer cable part cut through. Seems a rubber bush has disintergrated, guess these are not available, so any one have a suggestion for material for making a replacement, or where it could be obtained, previous post has suggested "Polybush" as per spring shackles.

Which rubber bush has disintegrated? is it a suspension bush or one of the bushes on the rear door pins.
Its a bit unclear.
Need to know as i can tell you what to use, and where to get it.

Rubber bushes, Chassis to body mounting
A rear chassis to body mount bush has disintergrated,allowing the bodywork to drop 1/2" onto the chassis/bracket securing the towbar, with the result the rear door (latch side)drags on the bumper and trapping the towbar electrics cable. Have blocked and jacked body bodywork up on the rear corner and have inserted a exterior plywood 'cotton reel' into the bush's location,as a temporary replacement.

Chassis / Body mount bushes
When out today I went past our local boat yard, and what did I see. Poly whatever rollers on boat trailers, me thinks these could make body/chassis mount bushes. Lots of different diameters and lengths, easy to cut to size and they could be turned down in a lathe, they had waterproof grease as well !!!. These rollers could be of use to you guys who wish to do a body lift.

Rubber bush, Sorted !!!!
Have made a replacment. 'Rubber' led me to start cutting up an old tyre, This then made me think, !!!! Conveyor belting, then had a ratch around the workshop, now have a number of fabric re-enforced rubber discs, of two thickness, complete with nice hole through the center. I heated up a steel rod and burnt them through, what a stink. So will replace the plywood cotton reel which is in there now with these conveyor belt disc's.
