If you wanted to move the claxon again (personally i have air horns behind the grill) you could do the same. Makes excelent use of that space. The box now holds a trolly jack, a tow rop, a hand winch, an fold up spade, two ratched tie downs and a 5m length of chain. Better than having it all in the 'boot'.
Also I found the K&N works better if put straight onto the front of the square air intake box, and lose the length of pipe from the front of the engine bay. It is a squeese to get it in (sitting against the top of rocker cover, and just missing the bottom of bonnet). I noticed an increase in performance by doing this. Mind you I was also changing an old K&N for a new one, so maybe that was what did it?
Both mods have been in situe for some monthes now (over a year for the box) used off road as well. No problems so fare. the box is an old amunition case, but I had to cut a wedge out of the midle of case, and weld top and bottom back together so the bonnet would close ver it. Plerfect fir width and length wise. Only thing had to move out of wat was the windsrean fluid bottle, as shown in pic.
Worked well for me. Worth doing?
