Suzuki Sidekick/Geo Tracker Hubs on Fourtrak

Forum:

Hi all,

If anyone knows, I would like to know wether a WheelHub from a Suzuki Sidekick/Geo Tracker will fit my 1998 F73 Fourtrak. From my investigations, they have the same Spline/Bolt Count (26 splines, 6 bolts). The ones I am looking into also have the same P.C.D (90.00 mm / The term PCD stands for (pitch circle diameter) and is the diameter of a circle drawn through the centre of your wheels bolt holes).
More specifically I am looking into a Superwinch Hub with these specs:

Superwinch 400538 Premium Hub
Product Features
• 4WD hubs made for Suzuki Sidekick and Geo Tracker '89-90
• Features full metal cap and body, corrosion resistant paint, and aluminum finishes
• Takes a 1/4 turn from 2WD to 4WD
• Spline/Bolt Count: 26-6
• 1/4 Turn to Engage and Disengage

I don't know if they are any other differences that would make them NOT comptaible, if they weren't......that would be AWESOME.
I need to replace the AutoHubs I have on my F73 with Manual ones. And for these Superwinch, I can also get a conversion kit. More affordable (price+shipping) than Milner's.

Anyone who has an idea, opinion would be very appreciated.

Thanks a lot

PS: I am seeing another measurement that needs to be taken into account:
Axle O.D. ??
Bolt Circle.

On the Suzuki/Geo
Axle O.D. is 1.080
Bolt Circle is 3.543

Anyone knows these measurement on Fourtrak?

(Knowing compatible parts for Fourtrak is of great help...as it is so hard around here to find any original parts for that 4x4. Guess it would be of great help to anybody, anywhere, wouldn't?)

Auto hub

The Superwinch hub appears to be a AVM hub as supplied by Milners.I have used these hubs for 4 years without problems and would recommend you purshase from Milners who are very helpful and supply the full kit to convert from auto! hope this helps

Milner's ...

Hey Maddog,

Thanks a lot for the reply. I have purchased from Milner's before and from so much browsing their website, know all about their products. They are probably the best suppliers for Daihatsu Parts that I know of so far. The hic is that they are in the UK...and I....in the Caribbean. And shipping costs.....are off the chart. Wayyy too expensive. Specially for an item that weights over 6/7 pounds like the hubs they have...unfortunately.
That is why...I am always trying to find compatible parts, from other makes, models, that I can find easier and cheaper. But it's always hard to determine on paper. And so I thought i'd include the measurements, as to allow someone who knows them, to give me some feedback on that specific question. Are Suzuki hubs compatible?
Will keep investigating. And if Milner's....or anyone else for that matter...can offer affordbale shipping...will purchase from them....maybe. But until then....
Thanks again Maddog

Hubs

Hi.

AVM hubs are manufactured in Brazil, contact them for a dealer/scource . Link below, bottom of page ( Products) lists snail mail and all email addresses ( sales, service, ect), phone numnbers. Also all data Hubs/spline /PCD/models/versions

http://www.avm.com.br/

If all fails you could remove all the locking assemble and just weld the large internal (driveshaft)splined section to the outer hub ring, this would give you permantly locked front hubs, preferbably by a competent welder who knows his metals/rods and all about pre heating , ect, not just a diy job with lots of weld !!!!

Did you get this problem sorted

Compatible Hubs from Suzuki 4x4

Well,

Unfortunately, I haven't sorted it.
I contacted AVM. Their Brasil manufacture don't do retail sale. They referred me to a retailer in Argentina, but cost would be just as much as buying it from Milner's.
The Suzuki compatible hubs I have been looking into seem to have all the right specs...but I have never dared to just go and get them just to realize later that for some reason they don't fit right.
Otherwise, I have no other options left.
All the Daihatsu parts dealers I've asked don't have that particular part, nor do the "junkyard" kinda shops/places. Really hard to find in this part of the world.
If something doesn't come up soon, I'm going to get the Suzukis....and hope for the best.

And if they fit...I'll let you know. I am sure many would be glad to know that they can replace their hubs with Suzuki compatible aftermarket ones, cheaper and easier to get your hands on.

Thanks.

Luck
