Forum: General Discussioncan anyone give me a brief idea into renewing both rear axle wheel bearings, seals etc on my 1997 f73 Log in or register to post comments Anyone..please!? Anyone..please!? Log in or register to post comments It's pretty complicated. So It's pretty complicated. So far as I understand it goes like: Grind off shrink fit collar behind the rear brake backplates, Remove halfshafts, presumably with something like a slide hammer, Replace bearings and oilseals, Obtain new shrink fit collar, heat to 200 deg C and fit in place of the one you ground off Reinstall half shafts before it all cools down. ..... you must have done a fair few miles .... my '98 trak is just shy of 200,000 and the rear wheel bearings are still OK ( thankfully) Log in or register to post comments
