Central locking malfunctioning

Forum:

I've a 2008 Daihatsu Terios 4x4 automatic transmission.

Two days ago, I started experiencing problems with the central locking. All five doors will lock and unlock with the remote control. But when manually trying to lock/unlock the doors, either with the master lock/switch on the driver's door or with the key in the driver's door, only the driver's door responds.

There is also a slight difference in how the locks respond to the remote. They all unlock at the same time, but after starting the car there are two "clicks" immediately after each other, as if the doors lock in two separate sessions instead of at the same time. After locking the parked car with the remote, it also sounds as if the passenger (and driver's) doors lock first and then the back door (the one with the spare wheel hanging on it) a fraction of a second later.

It has rained a lot the last few days. Is it possible that the wet weather is causing the problem? But if so, why no problem when using the remote control?

Should I take the car to the dealer for a fix or is it something simple that even a unpractical girl-driver can fix (I had the suggestion that I should disconnect and reconnect the car's battery to force the central locking system to reset, but I'm not sure how this will work...).

Possible damage.... I've had to get the windscreen replaced last week and the guys who did the replacing balanced themselves on the opened front doors while cleaning the windscreen "frame" (no ladder in sight for this work!). However, it has been several days after the windscreen replacement before the problems with the central locking started.

Any suggestions?

Good morning!
