what shocks?

Forum:

thinking of replacing all shock absorbers
on my fourtrack f78 with explorer pro comp es9000 shocks. just wondering if any body else has fitted them . just want to know how they perform

Explorer pro comp ES9000

I replaced the front and rear shocks on my 1997 F78 with these last week. No complaints at all and the ride is vastly improved... but then again I also replaced the rear coil springs and anti roll bar bushings!

When I ordered them online I didn't get the shock boots. In hindsight I should have as the nice shiny chrome looks very vulnerable to mud etc.

The coil springs I fitted on mine were of the heavy duty variety to give me a 1" lift, so I asked for shocks that would accomodate it.

That may be the difference???

Yeah, blue springs heavy duty (ST84.50 for the pair) that give about 1" lift.

That's a bit odd... hope I didn't nab the last set of shocks????

I'm away from home at the moment but when I get back I can email you any references/part no's on the boxes the shocks came in...if it'll be of any help????

Just checked out the explorer site again...

The normal coil springs seem to be separated into two models 1993-1998 and then post 1998 (oddly enough the heavy duty ones are simply post 1993) Didn't realise that Daihatsu changed the springs. They must have changed the shock fitment(?) as well.

think thay changed the top fitting.
mine has a spike fitting on the top.
got a set of poly bush kit for the anti roll bar and pan hard rod.
and got heavy duty shocks from japanese 4x4 parts
