1990 FOURTRAK

Forum:

Just got a old fourtrak,it came with a few problems, the first being it will not select 4WD in low, I believe there is a solenoid or pneumatics involved, any ideas? Also can anyone tell me where the fuse is for the interior light and digital clock, I,ve tried
all the ones under the dash by the pedals but they are all ok.

Any help would be appreciated

Change the gauge fuse anyhow,

Change the gauge fuse anyhow, even if it still looks good. Those spade fuses can be shagged, and still look ok.

have you locked the hubs in?

have you locked the hubs in?
get under the car, and turn the front prop shaft with you hand, if you can turn it, then one or both of the hubs are not locked in!
if you can turn the front prop shaft with both the hubs locked in, i bet someone has taken the front drive shafts out, or the locking hubs are buggered!

anyone wana ride in my hovercraft!

1990 FOURTRACK

Sorted..... Turns out it was engaging fwd all along & the hubs are ok but the splines on the front prop shaft are completely goosed.
Found the fuse under the dash so the clock, dome light & rear door lock
now work, so now its just a rear wheel bearing & fix the speedo.

Thanks to all for the help

The interior light, and center clock lights are on a separate in line fuse, up behind the dash on the drivers side. It's a real head in the footwell job to find. Sorry. Sad

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.
