How much lift do you have?

Forum:

Heres a question I posed in Difflock.com.

For those of you with F75 Fourtraks/Rockys/Ruggers, on flat level ground, measure the distance from ground level to the lower outside flat part of your mudguard/wing. And state what size tyres this is with.
Mine are 960mm rear, and 910mm front with 30x9.5x15 BFG A/T's fitted. It would be more with my 31x10.5x15 Simex's fitted.

How much lift do you have

Hi dave not looking that good here mate, ive got the extended arches (f76 jap import), the tyres are 255/70=15 the front measure 780 the rear 825.The fronts are flat so i intend replacing, could you tell me the secret of getting more lift,is it longer shackles do you have to do away with the 3 stage shocks, then theres over axle as well.i dont know which way to go.spends most of its time on the road, funds are limited, but have a mig and a big hammer and a lovely wife who makes the tea, cheers your pics look great not able to load any yet,.Wally

Well, mine is actually a comb

Well, mine is actually a combination of suspension and body lift. The body has been lifted 2 inches off the chassis, and the suspension is a hybrid of various leaves I have had. The fronts are actually a set of rears, with a front main leaf, and the rears are another set of rears I had made up, with 2 inch lift, and with a couple of extra leaves added from, of all things, a Nissan C20 van. The standard shocks wont cut the mustard, you will have to measure and find a set that are longer. It also helps to remove the front panhard rod on leaf sprung vehicles, as well as removing the front sway bar on all of them.

Hi. I have a 91/92 F75 Fourtrak 2.8TDX , now fitted with 'Runway Enduro A/T' 31 x 1050 LT/MS and the ground to wheel arch ( plastic extension) flat is, Front 80cm, Rear 83cm, on original 15 inch rims, UK model was equiped with 255 x70R15, as I still have unused original spare. Tyres scrub on chassis on full lock. I am planing a spring and shock change in the next few weeks,as I have a leaking front shock (3 stage type) to Monroe Gas type, and I think the springs are tired, they are flat, and I have only approx 1 inch clearance under bump stops. will send data when I have changed the suspension
