Sportrak / Fourtrak rear springs

Forum:

Hi all I am a new member .Just wondering does anyone know whether leaf springs from a fourtrak will fit on my sportrak as I am on a limited budget and my rear leafs have both cracked on a "flippin" speed bump at less than 25 mph so I am very nervous at the moment and cant go playing in the mud and stuff cos I dont like walking home. Thanks for any help you can give!!!!

I dont think they will mate..

I dont think they will mate...

Also, even if they were similar size, the leaves for the 4trak will be much harder and probably unsuitable for use on the sportrak, due to the increase in vehicle weight with the 4trak.

Try a wrecker and grab some off a Sporty there. Pretty cheap

Many thanks for your reply. I thought that may be the problem but worth asking anyway . trouble is there arent many sportys in breakers in my area (Rochdale, Lancs) BUT I can find plenty of Fourtraks ( Think I should have bought one of those ) . only found one sporty and springs were knackered.

Thanks again !!!!

I wish we swapped places to live mate!
Where I am there are thousands of Sportys being wrecked, and NO Fourtraks.. so hard for me to find parts too.

Have you tried sourcing new aftermarket springs?? Maybe next best option.

Sporty springs

Yes you are probably right we should swap places . I have tried after market suppliers but they want loads of money and like I say I am on a very limited budget . What area do you live in cos if I pass through there I may have a look for some breakers. By the way have a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year !!!!

springs

i fited some springs of a fourtrak on my sporty but you will find the boltholes in the springs rubber bushings are bigger than your shakels bolts so you need to use sleeves on the bolts to take up the play ..not ideal !the ride is not to bad but the springs i got are a bit worn anyway !you are better off doing the job just once and getting new springs as any from the scrappy probibly are near dead anyway.

rear springs

Thanks for info I think you are right I will be better of with new ones . But I cant afford them yet so I may sell my wife on the black market and then I may be able to get some.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year
