Hi, I live in Brisbane, Australia and I have a 1986 Model Daihatsu Rocky. Timing Belt needs replacing but engine seems to have timing gears and not a belt. Daihatsu Australia only have a belt listed but have no listing for timing gears and said that I most certainly need a belt. Don't know which way to turn does anyone have any expertise on this model and maybe know where to get hold of a copy of the service manual. Please help

Petrol or Diesel? I don't know for sure, havn't had mine apart yet, but if it's a diesel (like mine are), the injector pump could be gears and the camshaft a timing belt. As for the service manual you could get the one from this site on CD_ROM. I've just ordered one as I havn't been able to get an engine service manual and I've been told Diahatsu never had them printed in English, at least not for the Pacific area. Hope this helps

hi mate an 86 fourtrak is it a round light model? if so stop worrying its a timing chain providing this truck is a diesel that is!
