Forum:
Hi. Please has anyone had any experience of increasing power output from the 659cc turbo petrol engine, probably by using a replacement ECU & programme (or otherwise)?
I have a few friends who are also looking!
Thanks for your advice.

Not heard of anyone doing that yet but I'm sure the engine is similar to one of the Mira engines like the Avanzanto so it should be possible. You may find its worth contacing Palsport in Japan to see if they have anything.
I'll see what I can find out myself as I'm thinking of a Copen for the summer but was inclined to rip out the little donk and drop in the GTti lump.

The JB-DET engine in the Cope
The JB-DET engine in the Copen is the follow on from the JB-JL engine of the Zato, changing the filter and exhaust should give a mighty power boost and loads more response.
JB-DET engine is the same bas
JB-DET engine is the same base as used for the heavilly tuned up Storia/Sirion X4 which is 713cc and made around 120bhp.
There could be great tuning possibilities.
I know there are companies which make "alternative" parts to those found in the original X4 engines.
In other words, have a look around, and you may be able to tune her quite a bit if you look in the right places
