Rally 2 Cambelt intervals??

Forum:

Hi all,
I am a new member and I am hoping to pick up my new car tomorrow, a 03 reg Sirion Rally 2.

I can't find any info on Cambelt change intervals. The car has done 34,000 miles.

I don't wish to risk anything so I would be so gateful for any info on this.
I'm really excited about owning on of these geat little machines and hope you guys on here approve of my choice!!

Rally 2 Cambelt Intervals.

2003 Sirion SL 1300. And I love it.
Don't like the new shape much.

You do not have a cambelt in your Rally 2. It is a proper timing Chain.
As long as you change the oil (Good quality Fully Synthetic) and filter every 12,000 miles. And as long as the chain is not rattling at all, it should last for 250,000 miles (That's what Daihatsu told me anyway).
Iv'e done 66,000 in my Sirion 1300 SL.
And still as sweet as a nut.

2003 Sirion Rally 4. And I love it.
Don't like the new shape Sirion much.Sorry.

Thank you for your reply

Thank you for your reply Bob, Well that really is good news. I was hoping it would be chain driven. Picked the car up today and drove it 130 miles home so it got a good test (mainly motorways) its a lovely drive and the ride is surprisingly good considering its 'sports suspension'. Not as quick off the mark as I expected but once moving it really feels quite quick. Suppose I'll have to get used to the gears. Still I'm no boy racer being bus pass age!!.
My Daughter has the 1.3 EL on an o3 which she has had from new (on my recommendation) She just loves it.

Agree the car has much more charm than the new version.
