Forum:
Hi my names Pete, & I took early retirement!! Recently I went from a Daewhoo Leganza, to a Skoda Superb, Then I slightly downsized to my current car a Dodge Caliber SXT 2 litre with Cvt Trans. Its a great car & i,ve done some minor custom mods. Due to the current economic climate I feel the need to downsize again to maybe a Materia or a Sirion.... Going to book a Test Drive soon ,, Any Ideas or comments.... Will post again soon!!!!
Hi Pete The best thing to do
Hi Pete
The best thing to do is to test drive them both and see which you prefer. I have a Sirion and it is a great car, very roomy, very economical (it's the 1.0 version) but if I could afford it would be a toss up between the Materia or a Sirion SX. Keep us posted on how you get on.
Hi Pete, I took a test drive
Hi Pete,
I took a test drive in the 1.5 SX Sirion. Super car but I expected better performance. I went on to buy the older shape Sirion Rally 2 which is a hoot. However, I also found this to be more pedestrian than expected until I discovered it needs at least 4000rpm, then it flies.
Had I known this I would have tried driving the SX in a similar manner to see what response it has. I too prefer the older less boxy shape but there's no doubting the quality of the new Sirion. Just the ticket for us "oldies". I too am retired! By the way I changed to the Rally 2 from a Skoda Fabia 1.9TDi 05. model and its great..no more wet carpets as the fabia is plagued with.
