SOA

Forum:

hi i just want a straigh and very honest answer, now my dai-rock will see off road but it wont be nothing serious like rock climbing or nothing like that, about 70% of the time will be in the city you know pot holes, bad roads, nothing really serious. well to cut the story short am doing a SOA just the lenght of the axle tube and maybe an inch perch nothing that high, i just want to know if doing so do i have to put a longer axle or anything else??????????

If you go up, you always

If you go up, you always need to go out. From what your describing I would just put 31/10.50-15's on 8J weller wheels, and leave the suspention alone.

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.

too right nev

If you go higher you must go wider, the amount of times i have seen little suzukis fall in what looks like a pot hole sometimes just cos they are to high for the size in width, the fourtrak is not alot wider - it is no where near the width of a land rover, there is a few SOA pictures and images and stuff on this website if you search and on www.bloodredoffroad.com you will see a white SOA on there, you wouldnt need new axles, you could use spacers (again www.bloodredoffroad.com) but to do one properly is a bit of a fiddle, getting the length right for the dampers, adjusting the brakes/handbrake etc, its a job to agree or disagree with a soa??!!??!!??!

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!
