Replacement alloys for YRV

Forum:

Recently purchased a set of Wolfrace Pro Sprint wheels with 195/50R15 tyres, they fit straight on and help to fill out the wheel arches a bit better.

See http://www.dp-motorsport.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?products_id=870&osCsid=a7699aa90736055aa522a94867e3bed2 here.

Got 15" Wolfraces on mine......

Hello,

Got some replacement alloys for mine last year, ET35 100x4 PCD with Uniroyal 550 RallyE tyres, fronts fitted no problem but ended up buying 5MM spacers for the rears as the tyres were touching the rear axles. What tyres did you get with yours?
Piccies of mine in the 'MNodifications' & Car sections.

Replacement Alloys for YRV

I upgraded to Pirelli P5000s, I wanted Bridgestone Turanza's but I couldn't do a deal.

TBH, the P5000s are nothing special, but they look good! Blush

Did you need spacers for

Did you need spacers for those? How far away is your tyre from the rear axle? How good are the Pirellis in the wet & dry?

Sorry for the questions, but looking for an alternative to rolling the rear wheel arches due to the lowering kit.

No spacers required, haven't

No spacers required, haven't measured the gap between the tyre and rear axle/trailing arm, but I've done around 1000 miles now and no issues.

I live up a farm track so suspension gets a work out daily - no bumps thumps or scraping.

The Pirellis are summer tyres (like the OE Bridgestones)and its been cold here when dry, so I haven't pushed it yet.

Wet grip is on a par with the Bridgestones, which is a wee bit disappointing given the deep central groove and the V tread pattern.

The one positive is that they are slightly softer riding than the Bridgestones, which is no bad thing! Biggrin

Interesting, maybe the tyres

Interesting, maybe the tyres I have are slightly wider than the 195 stated then. Put my Wolfrace ET35 alloys on at the back and the tyre was flush with the rear axle. Might be the tyre brand (Uniroyal)have more outside protection for the alloys. You may have the same issue if you change brands as well. Well pleased with the wet and dry grip on the uniroyals, not a big fan of Bridgestones, had some on my Scooby and wasn't impressed, as they tended to tramline a lot.

Maybe the Tyres. !!

2003 Sirion SL 1300. And I love it.
Don't like the new shape much.

I have just been given a brand new set of Alloys for Christmas.
(Must have done something nice last year to my wife - Can't remember what though - will have to find out and put a stop to it) Biggrin
They are the same sizes as the YRV.
I'm surprised at your comment on Tyre Sizes. They are supposed to be exactly the same for width etc.
If it says 195 it has to be 195 mm.
I haven't fitted my alloys and tyres yet thought would wait for better weather and change discs and pads at same time as service etc. (72.000 miles) The bloody wheels look massive I'm terrified they wont fit at all - Never mind just the rears !!
Iv'e checked all the Alloy Sales sites and they all say they will fit ok (LEAGUE 15 inch MIDAS) 195/50/15 tyres.
We will see.

Cheers, BobF.
