Catching noise from Front Left Wheel.

Iv'e just had a good one, which didn't sound good at all, but the cause was remedied in minutes.

Every time I turned to the left there was a rubbing noise from the left Front Wheel. You know - The faster I got the noise was quicker as well. (Thoughts of Universal Joint or Bearing etc)
No noise at all when turning to the left.

So off came the wheel this morning. Pulled and yanked on everything nothing moving/no wear !!

Turned disc and noise was still there - AARRGGGHHH!

The Rear protection for the disc (Thin Steel) had bent inwards and was touching the edge of the disc !!. Screwdriver Inserted and steel pushed back - Job Done Biggrin

Suppose something got thrown up and bashed it, but don't remember hitting anything. And why noise when only turning to the Left??

Ah well a nice easy one. Just in case you get the same.

Cheers, Bob F

Bit of Luck

That was a good result and a bit of luck.

The back plates often also pick up stray bits of road material, stones, that get trapped between disk and plate. Makes a terrible noise and can be a sod to dislodge

Catching noise from Front Left Wheel.

If its on the LHS, chances are you've hit a puddle or flood water at speed and bent the disc back plate - had it happen on several occasions.

Flood Water !!

Don't like the new shape much.

Could easily be this !

We have had plenty of that on the roads lately (Luckily not in any Houses)

But who would have thought a deepish puddle could do that.

You live a learn..
