Thanks assassin, but I think they might baulk at the pallet load. Though Tesco has them on pallets just inside the doors.

Been seconded by a neighbour to go and buy some with him, he thought the limit was still i place. Thanks for that info, will not bother going with him tomorrow. He has roped anyone he can so we can all buy some for him to get round the limits.

Often they impose limits on
Often they impose limits on special offers, but as oil was being purchased in bulk for vehicle use they upped their prices due to dramatically increased sales. Their computer system recognised this and they bought in much greater quantities. Having to take a fixed amount, and their dramatic price rises meant sales dropped off significantly, this left them having to buy a fixed amount they could not sell.
They put it on special offer to remove this surplus they were contracted to buy, and still sell it at a profit, but much cheaper. It just shows how the supermarkets profiteer if something becomes popular.
Item limit at Tesco

Yes, Tesco normaly have a 9 of same item limit !!!, though for Pre paid mobile phone's it's 3. You will find this notice hidden at the rear of the customer service desk, supervisors are aware of it and often act.
