Electric fan

Forum:

I have a 96 model Feroza with air conditioning, I Live in Manila Philippines so it is a must ( Iam originally from England). I wanted to know if anyone with an aircon engine has ever replaced the original four blade electric fan which pushes air through the radiator with an after market model such as a Kenlowe or Pacet. If so was there a marked improvement in cooling effeciency.

We dont get quite the humidity you do here, so aircon variants are thin on the ground in these models. As regards Kenlowes, I've fitted a couple in the past to car's which have had a direct coupled fan, and there's been no real difference - except they warm up quicker. You'd be better off with the std one, and a smaller one (From an oil cooler or whatever) lower down near the exit. Check that the fuse is upgraded as well.

Thanks Dave,

I think I was reading too much of the Kenlowe advertising blurb, thinking these were superfans.

I'll try your suggestion and backflush the radiator as well so that it is performing the best it can.

thanks.

It'd be a good idea to also flush the block whilst you are doing the rad. as well.In fact, I'd do that B4 fitting any extra fan as it may not be req. after a clean out. Obviously check the thermostat as that is what ultimately regulates engine temp. - regardless of what Kenlowe say.
