Keyless Entry Transmitter for 2002 Sirion K3-VE2 M101RS F-Speed

Forum:

Hi Guys,

When I bought my car second hand I received 1 black key and 2 spare grey keys. I was just wondering if I should have also received the keyless transmitter as it refers to it in the manual:

At the time I didn't think anything of it but now I'm thinking it would be nice to have.

So does anyone know if my model of car included the keyless transmitter when it was sold brand new?

If it did is there any way I can get one?

Thanks

Yep all Daihatsu Sirion, YRV

Yep all Daihatsu Sirion, YRV etc.. can use the same transmitter I believe.
This has been discussed on here before with YRV and Terios owners looking to get or buy a second transmitter (The system can accept 2 x Keyless fobs by easily programming it).
Best bet have a look on Ebay for Daihatsu remote. There have been some for sale for as little as a starting bid of 99p.
Instructions for programming:

The black 2 button remote Tokai Rika Model C01SA. As far as I can tell its the same remote that most, if not all Daihatsu cars/vans in the UK use (I might be wrong about that).

So I got the remote and all I had to do was program it to my car. After doing some googleing I found the right way to do it - as follows.

1) unlock the car, remove the key from the ignition and shut the doors.

2) disconnect the negative (black) connection from the car battery and leave off for at least 2 minuets.

3) re-connect the negative connection to the battery.

4) press and hold down both buttons on the remote until the car locks and then immediately unlocks its self. Let go of the buttons.

5) press the unlock button. the car will then lock and unlock again.

6) for a second remote repeat from stage 4 immediately.

Notes -
You do have a time limit to get it all done - I don't know how long but if you do everything immediately you should be ok.
when you reconnect the negative battery connection at stage 2 just push it on - don't tighten the bolt up until you've done programing the remote. But don't forget!!!

Just to add owner Daihatsudave may have one spare for sale:

Thank you for your quick and thorough reply.

I will message Daihatsudave and ask if it's still available.

Thanks again.

Never works for me...

I can not get my key fobs (I bought one from ebay as thought mine was faulty) to reprogram to the car. I follow the instructions but it just wont work.

I unlock the door
Pop the bonnet
Disconnect negative for around 2-3 mins
Reconnect and hold lock and unlock
Nothing happens...

Anyone got any ideas. Any help would be great.

Weird....

Sure you haven't blown a Fuse somewhere?
Worth checking the fuse box underneath the steering wheel for a blown fuse.

Just a quick search on here and this guy had success with the instructions given:

Fob Update

Hi guys

So I got my key from daihatsu dave and I can't get it to programme either.

I phoned the dealer and they said that it didn't come with a keyless transmitter originally (even though it has a few pages in the manual about it) and that they don't sell one for my model. In saying that they have told me nonsense before so who knows.

Is there any way I can physically check on my car to know for sure?

Are there any 2002 or earlier sirion drivers with the keyless transmitter?

Thanks

Interesting...

When you use the key in the drivers door lock, do all the doors lock and unlock? I.e you do have central locking?
If you do then this is a start.
I would suspect there is a transmitter box situated behind the dash somewhere. As explained to Ryansm the fuse for this system is it working? Worth checking the user manual and the fuse box located underneath the steering wheel to check.
Also did Dave put a fresh battery in the fob for you? If not worth trying another battery in the fob.

Patch2spots

Here is a link to Phil's (Patch2spots) Ebay store and contact details as Dave as Described:

Just been looking on Autotrader for Sirions for sale. One thing that is starting to make a pattern is the shape of the sirion body maybe something to do with it.
The Mark 1 Sirion with the phase 1 front (Without the big front bonnet grill, made from 1998 - 2001/2, Such as this one: http://www.daihatsu-drivers.co.uk/node/9305 ) are advertised as central locking only.

The Mark 1 (Or some say Mark 2, such as this one: http://www.daihatsu-drivers.co.uk/node/17274 ) with the phase 2 face lift with the big grill at the front made from 2002 up to 2005 (Before the mark 3 and the box shape), are all advertised with remote central locking.
Can you shed some light which model you have please?

It's a mark 1

Hi my model is 2002 Sirion K3-VE2 M101RS F-Speed. From your research it looks like I don't have remote central locking, just central locking.

I really wanted the remote. Ah well, looks like it was one of the last models not to have it. It's just annoying cause the manual talks about keyless entry.

There is no fuse in the main fuse block for anything that resembles a transmitter so that again suggests a big no.

Thanks for your help anyway.

Could have been an optional extra by the stealers!

Maybe worth giving Phil (Patch2spots) a shout just to make sure on this. Wink
