Hi, I am keen to explore the options with regards to upgrading my wee 2003 Charade EL 1.0. It is a fantastic car. However, I am toying with the idea of upgrading the engine or getting a sportier car altogether.

Now, it has the EJ VE engine and I once heard that it might be possible to fit a K3 VE (1.3l from a Sirion?) in the Charade. Is this correct? Anyone got any experience with this kind of "tinkering"? If it is possible, does anyone know whether the turbo variant (K3 VET) of the K3 VE would also fit?

Obviously, an upgrade such as this would require possible uprating of the brakes, shocks etc, but I would really like to look into the possibilities of getting even more fun out of this automotive treat. Plus, I am feeling the lure of the great German motorways.....
