Forum:

im looking to raise my 1997 F73 swb for cosmetic look only and have been told i can fit 31/10.5/15 tyres to my standard rims without having to make ANY adjustments to suspention etc ive found some narly 80/20 mud tyres and a new set of steel rims but am on a tight budget so if anyone could advise if this info is correct i would be much abliged,Regards,Mark.

Yes you can, but they will

Yes you can, but they will foul the chassis on full steering lock so you need to adjust your steering stops.

If they are on aftermarket rims then check the offset of the rim against your originals, you can fit spacers to space them out a little.

When I had 31's on my

When I had 31's on my standard 'tear drop' alloys on an Indipendent i had to rais the front suspenssion slightly. Not a big problem as you only need to crank the torssion bard uop a bit. As the truck normally stands a bit nose down this wasn't a problem. I also had to bend the front mud flapps away a bit as they got cought up when steering. I didn't adjust the steering stops. The tyres don't do anything beyond clean that bit of chassis, and your getting as much lock as your going too.

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.
