Help: Hijet Camper New Engine Still Overheating

Forum:

Hi. My Hijet camper overheated repeatedly last year and despite repeated attempts to cure the overheating issue, eventually needed a new engine as the original 993CC engine got wrecked.

I couldn't find a replacement engine, so ended up fitting a 1.6 Terios engine into it. It is now back on the road and working - and for the first time can go up hills! However, the temp gauge still constantly fluctuates wildly between 1/2 way and over 3/4 of the way. Does anyone know if this is normal or if I still have a problem with overheating?

Many thanks

I wonder if there is a

I wonder if there is a voltage regulator for the gauge, that might be working intermittently?

Might be worth talking to an auto-electrician.

1.6 Litre engine? Don't you mean 1.5 litre engine?

So if you replaced the engine from a 993cc to a 1495cc did you not also uprate the radiator as well? You only mention you swapped the engine. What else did you swap? I'm guessing ECU was swapped as well?
