New Copen (Japanese version)

Forum:

Just seen two 14 plate .7 Copens advertised on ebay/autotrader from a Japanese importer.

Does anyone know how they differ from the original- whether they are any bigger inside,and if specs are legal for UK as they are specified as Japanese version(I presume they must have sorted that out before advertising them)

They look great and having had a year of being without my Smart Roadster ,I would like to try another convertible but this time reliably!

Previously had Rally2 and most recently Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart so I want something as reliable.

Have seen them advertised. 1 auto and 1 manual for sale

The only things I would look for are the following;
- Has the speedometer been converted from KPH to MPH
- looks like it's already fitted, but has it got a independent rear fog light
- Under seal. The Japanese cars won't have been under sealed for things like
salt gritting we have in this country. So if you buy one, it's something you'll have to do for yourself.
- Spare parts for the car. The U.K. Doesn't have this model imported. So anything that needs to be replaced, or serviceable items could be a pain to source.
- Servicing will have to be done independently. No main dealer servicing. Unless you just do it yourself. Plus the service and owners manuals will no doubt be all in Japanese.
