Hey folks. Going to get a cheap L501 Cuore tomorrow. Was just searching for parts availability and came up with an alarmingly short list, including simple things like brake discs and drums. I was wondering if anyone would know if a hub conversion for say the Sirion 2, Charade (L250 I think) or L701 cuore would be possible, or even the Copen? I would assume that brakes will be more readily available for these as well as making for a wider choice of wheels to fit.
My long term goal if the car proves to be worth keeping is to fit a bigger engine, either the EJ-DE or preferably for the power gain the 1KR-FE from a Sirion or Toyota Aygo etc. So a brake upgrade as well as suspension etc would be needed. I know Spax make uprated lowering springs and these are available now, as for shocks I'd stick with standard ones.
The car I'm getting is going to need anti roll bar bushes replacing and these seem to be unavailable, so I'm going to get the size I need and order some universal ones from Powerflex. I'll possibly try to get all replacement parts that I can while they're available just in case.
Also, more questions, sorry. Does anyone kniw which parts are easily cross compatible with the L501 to make finding parts easier? It would really help as I do want to be able to keep this car if at all possible.
