Hi Everyone, need help re parts compatibility for 2007 Charade. I bought a waterpump on ebay and the compatibility chart says it was the correct one. Unfortunately it was nothing like! I have seen other pumps on ebay that are from sirions,hijets,copens etc and they appear to be more of a match. Perhaps the pump body of the one i bought is generic but the plain pulley was pressed directly onto the pump shaft whereas mine has a ribbed pulley attached to a flange by 4 bolts. I can,t believe that daihatsu made a different pump for every model they produced so somewhere amongst them is a pump that will fit the Charade. Any ideas?Cheers, Duncan
You'll need one for the EJ-VE engine, shared amongst Sirion&YRV
I suspect your car has the 1 litre 12 Valve EJ-VE engine. These were shared amongst the 1 litre versions of the Mark 1 and 2 Sirion and YRV. Don't be fooled by other models like the Copen sharing parts, as these had different engines.
Have you not tried getting a blue print part from your local motor factors shop?

Thanks Jpor, I will look on ebay. I suspected that the pump would be shared with other Daihatsu models and yes,aftermarket will be much cheaper than OEM. I managed to smash the oil filter housing 2 years ago and the part had to come from Japan and took 6weeks to arrive and cost £110!! Don't want to go through that again!
