I have recently acquired a F78 Fourtack (96 P reg) from Britain

I live in France, and am trying to register it there, where there isn't a a hefty Road tax on it, but have run into big paperwork problem.

As Daihatsu are no longer selling in Europe, their paperwork support has disappeared, so I can't get a Certificate of Conformity to show the car is allowed to be registered in the EU- and no the fact it already is registered in the EU doesn't get anywhere with them...

If I can find the type approval number ( section K on the V5C form) I should be able to register it.
As far as I can tell, it should be of the Format XX*XXXX or XX*XXXX** 00

Great car. With decent tyres, pulling a trailer with tonne of firewood on 20 degree slopes, or 5 skiiers up several km of iced up road is no problem- but 4WD and a turbo diesel does nothing to help with French Paperwork!
