Have a laugh (At my expense!)

Forum:

Following on from my problem with the calipers, I got new seals and decided to fit them on saturday morning.
I was soon faced with the old problem of the pistons not wanting to budge from their seats and therefore went around to the local Land Rover man who has a full air-equiped garage to blow them out - only to find him furious because because his expensive Snap-On system compressor had packed in. So it was off to the garage in the village and the age-old practice of borrowing their air-line which you still see people even today removing brake pistons with. Only I forgot to block the thing with a rag......
I managed to get the line over the entry hole with a fairly good seal and let the air go. Its a good job my face was not in the way, as the piston came away with a bang, went at least 50ft in the air, and landed in the back yard of the local vets. Can you imagine the looks on the faces of those in the surgery with their poorly pets when I rush to the head of the queue and say "Can I have my brake piston back?"
