Engine problems when cold

Forum:

I own a Daihatsu Applause 16X (Carburettor) and each morning, on starting the engine (when cold) automatic choke is OK and engine runs at 1250rpm. But when it comes to rev the engine, until the needle reaches the desired rpm, the engine hesitates a bit.

Also when it comes to moving off, the engine stalls momentarily, then power comes up soon after. Then as the engine runs performance gets better and rev counter needle goes up smoothly.

When I tested, the problem occurs both when the car is comfortably sleeping in the garage and also when the car spends the night outside.

Could any body help?

May I thank you in advance for the feedback posted.
