I am looking at a Fourtrak (Best 4x4 out there!)
To be honest a 7 seater would be handy for carrying extra stuff (mainly fishing takle for me and my Dad), but I am worried whether they are bad off road, because some of the places I can go because I live in Cornwall (Really good 4x4 Moorland about 20 miles and 50 miles from my house!)
Sorry if this offends anyone, but the only experience I have with good 4x4s is with Land Rover Defenders, and I know that the Defender 90 is better off road than the Defender 110.
However I know that the SWD Fourtrak is 87" wheelbase, and the LWB is 100" wheelbase, and working on similar methods as for a Land Rover Defender, the shorter wheel base is better.....
The other thing that has confused me is that from the Defender 90 to the 110 they added 20" wheelbase plus they added over 24" of body behind the rear wheel arches, which is part the reason they arent as good off road.....
Is it true that the extra wheelbase on a Fourtrak is basically fitted behind the door, in front of the rear wheel arches?
Can someone please help me, as I really want to know soon, so I can get which ever one is the best!
