Airhorns

Fitting Airhorns to a 4WD is one of them fun things that usually ends up being done at some point. It is almost just as common for the humour factor as people fitting them to their Mini or Metro. Airhorns are much louder than the standard horn on a Sportrak. Once fitted it makes the Sportrak sound like a truck!

a twin airhorn kit, including relay and mounting brackets usually works out around £15-£20. They are fairly easy to fit, from the airhorn, one wire is ground which connects to your car body and one is positive which connects to the relay. The positive wire from your old horn connects to the relay (to switch the power on and off). There are then two more wires to connect to the relay, one is ground which also connects to the car body and one is positive which connects to the battery or fusebox to provide the power. If connecting to the battery remember to fit an inline fuse to the positive power wire as a safety precaution.

The hardest thing is finding somewhere to mount the airhorns under the bonnet as there isn't much room unless you have modified the airfilter. You may have to mount it in seperate pieces. You then connect the two tubes and hey presto, you can get anyones attention now!!!
