I HAVE A 1992 2.8TDX-F75 WITH A SICK ENGINE, I HAVE PURCHASED A LOW MILEAGE ENGINE OF MUCH LATER MANUFACTURE COMPLETE WITH ALL ANCILLARY EQUIPMENT. MY PROBLEM IS THAT THIS ENGINE IS FITTED WITH AN AUTOMATIC START DEVICE FITTED TO THE FUEL PUMP. THE WIRING HARNESS ON MY VEHILCE HAS 1 CONNECTOR FROM HARNESS TO FUEL PUMP WITH 3 CONNECTIONS IN IT. THE NEW ENGINE HAS 2 CONNECTORS, 1 EXACTLEY THE SAME AS MY ORINGINAL FUEL PUMP BUT WITH ONLY 2 CONNECTIONS IN STEAD OF 3, AND A SECOND DIFFERENT STYLE CONNECTOR WITH 3 CONNECTION IN IT. I HAVE AN ORIGINAL HARD COPY WORKSHOP MANUAL THAT I PURCHSAED AT THE TIME OF PURCHASEING THE VEHICLE FROM NEW. THE WIRING DIAGRAM SHOWS ABSOLUTLY NO CONNECTIONS OF ANY KIND TO THE FUEL PUMP. HAS ANYBODY COME ACCROSS THIS PROBLEM BEFORE, DOES THE WORKSHOP MANUAL ON CD COVER THE LATER MODEL'S "INDEPENDANT" DOES IT HAVE A BETTER WIRING DIAGRAM?

Is the engine comming from an F75 or what.
Do you know the year ??
I have the wiring diagrams for the 1994 models from LuRch CD.

not sure on year of engine, it was fitted to an M reg. vehicle, but this was a new engine to that vehicle, which got scrapped due to chassis rust. Engine no. is some 40000+ in front of my orig so I believe it could be fairly recent. If your CD shows any electrical connections to the fuel pump, this could be useful.

Try to look at the top cover where you put oil on. It use to have a label saying DL, DL-50 or so.
Should also be center on the left side of cylinder block.

The engine is definitley a DL-52 as I said in my reply to your first comment. But as I said this has an auto start (like an auto choke on a petrol) engine fitted. this is shown as a version in my orig. Service Manual as an option, but no more is said about it and as i said before the wiring diagrams show no electrical connections to the fuel pump at all. Got to say as a wiring diagram it is very poor in deed. I don't know if it would be possible to E Mail me the wiring diagram from your CD? shouldn't be a very large file
