Hi all.

Well our local Tesco's have removed 'Pura' branded Rapeseed Oil fom there shelves, it was retailing at £1.07,per liter where as own (Tesco)brand was £1.13 per liter. I have 40 liters in stock, and found they had a 'limit' of 10 x 1 liter bottles limit, though NO indication of this , but supervisor was called to till and removed the balance of my purchase, I returned later and purchased all remaining stock. ( my partner said I should have complained as there was no statment at the point of sale as to a limit on purchases) ( she says we men are weak on this point)

Any one know off a supermarket chain still selling Pure Rapeseed Oil at a competetive price to diesel.

Veg Oil price, supermarkets, Aldi, Tesco

Aldi 'Pure Vegetable Oil' not marked as Rapeseed Oil, but just shows a Rapeseed plant in flower, could contain any veg oil, managers says could contain ANY/BLEND veg oil, picture is for ilustrative purposes. NOT marked as containing only Pure Rapeseed Oil.

We have a new Aldi store opened a week ago and Tesco is beating its prices, the veg oil in question is 3 pence cheaper at Tescos ( own brand) at £1.16 per liter. What I need is Pura brand at £1.07 per liter and Tesco have discontinued it, ( diesel localy is £1.30/£1.32 a liter) it was £0.56p a liter when diesel was a £1.00 a liter

Maybe I should also filter and recyle my 15 liters of used engine oil,( mineral oil) as I understand fishing boats in the States use a system of constant engine oil replacement, feeding a proportion into the diesel and replacing it with new oil. Any comments anyone !!!!!.

Not sure what this means, but a supervisor at a local supermarket, again has told me to pay cash for bulk veg oil purchases, do not use points/loylaty cards, so there is no track to your purchases !!!!. Who is looking at these purchases ???????.

Big Brother

Hi Edward

Noted your comments regarding who is looking at your purchases, well in a nutshell, anyone with a vested interest, particularly the Government.

ECHELON is a Government spying system for digital communications, look it up on the internet; this monitors any digital communication. Most people are not aware of this, but all e-mails, faxes, mobile phone calls, and text messages are monitored automatically in most parts of the world. Land lines are also monitored, most landline calls are transmitted by low level satellites at some point, the signals are simply intercepted for monitoring, this explains the Governments commitment to getting us all on the internet and mobile phones.

Information from reward cards are monitored, the information is sold to almost anyone, it is easily accessible as it is all digitally stored. All computer systems have an operating system, this may be Vista, Windows XP, going right back to DOS. Operating systems have a "back door", this is how Governmental departments gain access as well as hackers, Government simply hack and install monitoring systems in all large company computer systems.

Bear in mind also, that under new legislation even local authorities have the power to monitor youe e-mails.

BIG BROTHER

Just to support Assassin's comments, which I would add are fact, our movements are also monitored by CCTV wherever we walk and drive. So in reality there is very little that we do that some bugger isn't monitoring, a Police State, well for the motorist it appears to be moving that way quite rapidly as so much Police time is spent on the motorist who is an easy and normally safe target. Crime solving rates are enhanced at the same time. In addition to all of this SAT Nav/GPS talks both ways and therefore wherever you drive using a GPS you can be monitored, your location, speed, average speed the lot. Perhaps a reason why the Government are keeping quiet on these as a distraction to drivers.

I am certain that these will be used for road charging and average speed checking resulting in fines landing on the mat every month. I have already heard of the "tracker" system some years back being used for average speed checking. My Cousin travelle from Reading to Cardiff and was contacted by them to inform him that he had broken the law in order to arrive so quickly. He wasn't aware that the device was on the bike, found it, and it now resides on some refuse tip. He moaned at "Treacker" but they told him it was their duty to record speeding motorists and if necessary to report them. Have you heard of such B*ll**ks.

OLDMINIMAN

PS I looked in Super U the French Tesco and it has gone up to 1.19€ per ltr.

ECHELON

Hi Assissin.

Yes. I am well aware of ECHELON, i have quite a few pages re this bookmarked. We both switch off our mobiles, as much as possible, as we only use them to contact each other,as when I am away from my disabled partner, put your mobile near a TV or stereo and hear it send out its location signal (tracking). As for the reward cards would never have one, what I buy is my for my knowledge not for marketing or other purposes, O/Ps for computer I use Linux, bit more secure than Microsoft, but all your internet traffic passes through your ISP.Made a purchase the other day and I was asked for my post code/address, could not complete the purchase otherwise, so gave the travellers site post code, and paid cash. And we do not need satnav, as we both can read O/S maps, as Oldminiman says they need to tell the GPS sat where you are to work, yup, they track you here ,they track you there.
