When I first fitted higher output headlight bulbs (30%) to my YRV some years ago, I had a sneaking suspicion that they were not as good as the original Daihatsu-fitted bulbs.

I have uprated the YRV headlights when more powerful bulb versions have arrived, all with the same sneaking suspicion.

At last I have a direct comparison.

I uprated the headlights on my Nissan Note and enjoyed a noticeable improvement (in nearside curb illumination), so I updated the YRV with the same bulbs....and am left with the sneaking suspicion that there is still no improvement over the original bulbs.

So, horror of horrors, I've come to the conclusion that the YRV headlight design is not very good.
