4-trak - oil in inter cooler

Forum:

information please

I had an oil leak in front of the front nearside wheel which I traced to a loose pipe connection on the intercooler

IC contained a small amount of oil which I have washed out

vehicle is T reg 53k FSH

is this a problem?

if so, what is likely cause and solution?

thought I answered this the

thought I answered this the other day?? or was it someone else? anyway its oil mist out of the turbo that collects in the IC over time....very very common issue, as long as its not excessive....i.e the turbo squirting out all the oil from the engine it certainly is no problem, the pipes just need cleaning inside with a rag from time to time which most people dont worry about.

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

I also answered it, and it is

I also answered it, and it is mist from the turbo condensing in the intercooler, its normal unless excessive.

thanks for your response

I couldn't pour oil from inter cooler, but washing out with petrol I guess there was no more than a desertspoonful.

I guess this is okay after 53K miles; thanks again for your help
