after phoneing avery breakers in the yellow pages i had to phone diahatsu main dealer £33.38 +vat he told me ,ok i said when can i get it , oh in about 6 to 8 weeks he said, ok i said thanks and hung up .off to the brakers for a good rummage after about 10 mins found the perfect fit taken off a proton cost £3.00 not a bad saving

That really is some saving..well done m8...I am sick and tired of main dealers ripping us off..I stupidly thought that the front brake caliper bleed nipples were in some way specific to our vehicles..there not of course....Dealer charged me £8 ..yes..£8..for a part I could have bought at local car accessory place for pennies.
If you are reading this Lurch...how about a section/page dedicated to alternative parts that will fit our vehicles and that can be obtained cheaply or from other, more common (non Daihatsu) vehicles in the breakers yards.
If an owner/member knows of or works out (as Garen did) that a part from another car fits and can be got much cheaper..it could be recorded on the ALTERNATE PARTS PAGE....we operate this system on the Mahindra website and its totally invaluable.

cheers mike it took a bit of searching but was well worth it ,mind you i think the problem my go a bit further than i thought as i've got no lights on the back end at all now apart from the reversing lights bollocks i hate electrics . the head lights still work so i might take a feed of that and see if i can get the rear end lit up that way but im noy sure that will work wish me luck.gaz

Hi Garen,
There is a connector next to one of the seats between the seat and the door. It is hiddeb under a plate you have to bend. I have had problems with bad connections this place.
try it out.

cheers i checked it out and found all the wireing was a bit damp and a couple of dodgy conections so out with the insulation tape no broken wires or shorts i could see put in new fuses and blimey every thing has come back to life ,so im happy but not to confident so i think a check over by the sparky is required .thank again for the advice ,i will let you no what the out come is ,Gaz
