Ok, I'm a newbie here, just bought myself a 1990 fourtrak today, the 2.8 turbo diesel jobbie. This is the first Daihatsu I've owned, so am I little bit green
Would just like a heads up on possible / potential problems I may well run across with it - every vehicle has it's own little quirks and problems and I'd like to hear sorta now, what they might be............
Took our fourtrak out for a good run yesterday, & was dismayed that "'er indoors" said she couldn't recall it "being this bumpy & uncomfortable".
I went to great lengths to explain the intrinsic charm of the leaf spring's "tractor-like" ride quality, but this fell upon deaf ears.
Hi everyone, I want to mount a roof rack to my sportrak. cant find one too easily cos im in Ireland. Thought id knock one up myself. I was wondering if anyone has done this before. Is it possible to mount it without making any permanent changes to the roof, i was thinking of using the existing nut-bolt joints from the rear roof conversion and the front hinge on the sunroof. while im at it ill be adding a set of spots on the front, all going well I will post some pics.
hi out there, thanks for your help on the blue smoke from my98 tdx my thoughts are spark plugs, but the fourtrack is diesel,to you mean to look at the heater plugs?by the way i have found the blue smoke is only when the turbo is being used. i have a 1 month waranty on my ftrack from the sellar{evan hallshaw]cardiff so i think i had better have a talk to them about it
Right, 6 weeks ago I posted about Wet Feet; after the very helpful comments i received it indeed turned out to be the matrix. Much searching on Ebay led me eventually to but a scrap heater from Germany which in fact turned out to be, not so much a scrap heater, but a crap heater as the matrix was f**ked already. Finally found a firm locally who repaired the original, which I have just finished fitting. Turned the key for the 1st time since returning home 6 weeks ago & the thing fired up with no hesitation.
