Hello there, I have joined the club today, and I have the chance of buying a fourtrak 2.2 gx, is there any thing i should look out for. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Can anyone help. does this sound familiar?. when i change my rocky from 4 wheel drive to 2 wheel drive, while driving, the green light on the dash stays on, after a short time there is noisy thud and the light goes out. this thudding sound is definately mechanical. the vehicle is frequently used in 4 wheel drive .can anyone shed light on this,so i dont damage it any further. as you can tell i know very little about mechanics. many thanks rik.
ok i just fitted by sportrak with some new brake pipes, and as i tried researching this on the net first i couldnt really find much and it was all trial and error. to be honest its very easy for someone with limited mechanical knowledge such as myself, or the weekend mechanic (such as myself!). im doing a brake pipe that runs from beck hub to back hub. i have already replaced the one from the hub to the front of the car.
the connections are at the back of the wheel cylinder. one standard union on each.

just looked up the front springs in the workshop manual it would seem to me that on a right hand drive model the right hand spring is slightly stronger can anyone conferm this i have a problem with parabolic springs thanks for any help
Can anyone reccomend a company that would do a good job on a custom printed Sportrack spare wheel cover? There are oooodles of companies out there that do it, I know, but I don't want to give my hard earned dosh to just anyone,

Not written in the forum for a while so hear goes,
I have a Sportrak that i use mainly for greenlaneing but in really slippery conditions a limited slip diff or diff locks would be usefull.
Does anyone know of a modification or should i buy a Fourtrak, assuming they have limited slip diffs.

ok so i bought a sportrak about two months ago which failed an MOT on three places on the drivers side chassis rail needing welding, and a damaged antorollbar mount.
also it had a damaged brake pipe leading to 46% braking efficiency. its a M reg 1995 1.6 ELXI with 86k. no history whatsoever and proof of timing belt change 25k ago.
I have a bog standard F75 Fourtrak TDL which is fitted with a variety of tyres in a variety of sizes. Today I tried it out on a muddy slope and it failed! So, what do you experts recommend for off road use on standard rims?
