I had a noise from that area
I had a noise from that area on my 1995 Fourtrack. It was due to excess play in the clutch cable. Try pushing the clutch pedal down enough to take up the slack, if the noise stops, you've found the cause. It adjusts by pulling off a circlip-like stop on the cable on the engine side of the bulkhead and moving it up a couple of notches on the outer cable. Hope this helps. Bob
