I have a 1998 Gran Move manual. When travelling at a higher constant speed e.g dual carriageway say 60 to 70 mph it sudenly and randomly dies with no power at all for a few seconds but then will pick up again and run perfectly for the rest of the journey.

However, it seems to happen more often at night with lights wipers and heater on but this may be a co-incidence, and totally unrelated.

We have changed the cat because someone suggested back pressure irregularities. We changed the distributor but no improvment. The previous owner changed the fuel pump and therefore I suspect it might just might be electrical.

A Diahatsu Main Dealer had the car for a week but couldn't find anyhing wrong.

Any clues anyone?
