HI-JET 993CC WHAT OIL

Forum:

I have hi-jet which i need to do a service on can anyone recommend a good quality oil to use?

Hijet Oil

I would suggest a good quality 15/40 semi-sythetic or mineral oil dependant on the age of the vehicle and the mileage. Synthetics are too thin for older engines and high mileage vehicles plus a lot of older engines were not built to use the sythetic oils.

Oil to Use.

2003 Sirion SL 1300. And I love it.
Don't like the new shape much.

I would personally always use a Fully Synthetic Oil.

I have used nothing else for over 12 years now in my cars be them diesel or Petrol.
And my Diesel Mondeo had 175,000 miles on the clock and still purred along no problem from new, and I kept it 7 years!
And I know it is still running well with 250,000 on the clock - cos I know the guy I sold it to.

I intend to do the same with my 53 plate Sirion - I use Fully Synthetic 5/40 in it and it runs as sweet as a nut!

Your choice. BobF.

The same as mine.

Fully Synthetic 5/40.

Pretty much the best you can get.
I pay £28 for 5 litres.
An oil chnge in the sirion takes roughly 4 Litres with a new oil filter. So leaves you with a litre for top up if required!!
I say if required, because in 70,000 miles I have only ever put 2 litres in my engine topping up. Pretty good I think.

Cheers, BobF.
