Modifying a 4Trak voltage regulator?

Forum:

Unless a battery is flat my alternator churns out an unimpressive 13.6 - 13.9 volts. I prefer around 14.4 (even 14.8 max)even though this means checking the electrolyte more often.

Has anyone ever tried modding the ark-like regulator's second coil to stop it limiting so early? - (Forty years ago I had all the kit for relay setting but unfortunately not now)

A little bit folded paper

A little bit folded paper positioned under the spring worked for me.
Bit crude, but it's effective and enough to increase the amount of force/voltage required to switch the contacts
