HiJet Overheated - Replacing Head Gasket

Forum:

Hi Guys,

I've been doing a lot of reading on this forum regarding the HiJet and it's persistent overheating issues! I have a '97 998 HiJet and yes, it overheats!

I'm planning on doing the head gasket replacement by myself, and fitting a new fan switch etc.

Can anyone please provide some details on these procedures? Specifically head gasket replacement for the HiJet, and also how to fit the switch for the fan. Also, where is the best place to get the headgasket set? I've seen a few sets on eBay for about £40.

I'm mechanically minded and have access to a ramp, I just need pointing in the right direction for the HiJet, and as there is no workshop manuals available (which is a bit weird!) I thought I'd ask you guys!

Many Thanks Smile

Dan

the more we share these manuals the better/easier it is for all.

i can warn you, these are nowhere near as good as a haynes/clymer etc.
