YRV top end engine rattle.

I have a 52 plate YRV with 33K miles.Up untill now the engine has been sweet as a nut, almost silent on tickover.Then suddenly a light rattle started. It sounds like the timing chain (if it has a chain and not a belt)i've just ordered the manual to see what is in there.
Anyone had experiance of this problem?

Is yours a 1.3? The 1.3's have a chain the 1.0 ltr's have a belt.
If it is a 1.3, like wifesyellowyrv says above, check previous posts and if its the same problem we all have, then welcome onboard!! Smile
Check the small pencil filter, change the oil to 10w/40, flush it(at your own risk) and if that fails get on to Daihatsu UK technical and consult them. They told me they are interested to know of problems and will do their best to help.
