Forum:
Hello,
I have had a blitz stanliess Nur-Spec R exhaust fitted onto my YRV turbo for the past 8 months. And I could do with getting feedback from other owners who has had/has this mod. I know that since having the exhaust fitted I have come across the dreadded Fuel cut issue where the car now overboosts and the ECU thinks this isn't normal and backs off the power causing the hitting the brick wall effect But as of late I swear the exhaust is getting louder like it's blowing from somewhere but cannot see any holes or places where the exhaust gasses are leaking from. And also when taking tight turns can hear the exhaust knocking at the rear. Looking at the fixings everything looks normal and each arm is connected etc.. Just wondering what other owners experiences are like?
Thanks,
Jon.

Blitz Exhaust
Sorry mate, I can't help you, as I have a custom made exhaust.
However, the Blitz exhaust is made for the JDM YRV, which afaik, has different wheels and tyres and no rear anti roll bar and different exhaust mountings - perhaps the noise is the exhaust making contact with either the rear swinging arms or the anti roll bar?
Cover up the end of the exhaust with an old rag pressed hard against it, if the exhaust is leaking you will hear it leaking from the weak point!
Cheers for that YRV130. The
Cheers for that YRV130. The exhaust does appear to hang from the rubber hooks underneath the car and has nothing more to clamp it down to the car. I am under the impression with all those tight turns I have been taking to and from work, day in day out may have loosened something, and therefore why the exhaust is louder. Will try the rag in the end of the exhaust when it first starts up, as I don't fancy setting it a light when it gets hot

Now that you mention the
Now that you mention the rubber hangers, the exhaust fitter told me that they had to fabricate an additional mounting to steady the new exhaust, its been on a year and doesn't rattle or bang.
I guess that's your next step.
Yeah the original exhaust
Yeah the original exhaust looks to have been mounted centrally to the car and would have had some sort of clamp to hold it in place. This is going to be interesting to find someone who can provide something like that

Just been on the blitz site
Just been on the blitz site and there is mention of a baffle which comes with the exhaust. Can anyone confirm that they got a baffle when they purchased their exhaust system? As i appear not to have one

hey, i was very
hey,
i was very dissapointed with the blitz and hitting the wall at 5000revs as far as i'm lead to believe this is actualluy for the japanese yrv 4x4 turbo with 140bhp. I made a custom exhaust my self but still having issues with back pressure so going back to the original.
What a waste of time and money!
Kosovokid, sorry to hear
Kosovokid, sorry to hear that you had major issues. I quite like my exhaust and I beleive the fix is to get either a remap of the ECU (Like finding hens teeth)from somewhere in the U.K or go for a unichip or even have a fuel cut defender fitted. Looking at a unichip if I can find someone fairly local who can fit one for the YRV turbo
Came back off my holidays recently and felt the exhaust wasn't as bad but noticed for the last couple of weeks that it has it's good days and bad in terms of noise Contacted blitz about the the bung and was reliably told that the yrv turbo exhaust didn't come with one
Now on the look out to see if I can get the exhaust mountings fitted more securley.

hi from russia! yes, you
hi from russia!
yes, you have overboost on this exhaust.
You need P30 JDM ECU for YRV Turbo. This ECU has extended fuel maps up to 1.0 bar
This ECU fitted only on yrv made in 2000 year.
sorry for my bad english )
welcome!
