18 months ago we received a recall notice from Daihatsu, took it to local dealer who examined prop shaft, they said it was affected & needed replacing.(They would order part & contact us when it arrived.) We heard nothing & forgot about it to be honest.
Yesterday van started vibrating badly,(luckily I was local, so managed to limp it home.) We checked the prop shaft & found 1 of the UJ's had collapsed inside.
Today my wife rang dealer(It's her van & she doesn't lose her temper as quickly as me!) They are no longer Daihatsu dealers, so passed us over to another dealer. This one could do the work, but their recovery truck is off the road(huge main dealer without a recovery truck, yeah right!!!) We can't drive the van now as It's dangerous. They said we should arrange recovery, because they would charge us anyway! She will ring back on Tuesday & chase this as we don't think it should cost us if It's a safety recall.
This is our first attempt at using the Daihatsu dealer network & I have to say we are less than impressed. Are they always this poor???
