I have a 2002 1300 efi with terminal engine damage due to lack of oil. I would like to purchase either a decent used engine or a damaged van with a good engine. Both are proving difficult to find.

However, there do seem to be a few 1300 efi Charades kicking around. Anyone know if the basic block can be utilized? Manifolds, injection system, sump etc can be salvaged from old engine.

Anyone got any advice - or an engine?

By the way, I have a 1200 diesel van taxed and tested with the usual leaks, rattles and smoke on start-up that can be p-xed or swapped for suitable engine - might even come with a much coverted copy of the dealers workshop maual for the Lombardini diesel.
