I have a 90 daihatsu rocky. Wonderin what toyota engine is in it It's a 1.6l sohc I believe. Someone said a 3a or 5a but not sure. Want to either rebuild or replace it with an a series engine that will bolt up to the bell housing anyone has any knowledge towards the subject let me know.

It is a 1600 engin (1.6). In the UK the car is called a Sportrak. It is also known as a Forenza (Australasia I belive?). Don't know the engine name, but I knoe it was from another car originally. Hopefuly info will help with your serch.

I seem to remember a similar post on the site, and it suggestes the Toyota models using a engine which can be used as a replacment. Try using the " Site Search" box on the left of this page. See if a friendly Toyota dealer/mechanic recognises the engine,.
