Value is all relative - its still a lot less cost wise than a re core - depends on how much money you have - based on your theory scrap yards would be out of business. admitidley a recore is the best way to go - they can be superior to an oe item for less money (and even pattern parts as i found out on my hilux surf a few years ago)
